Tokoname Tanuki Teapot by Motozo

An elaborate and unique teapot styled after a Tanuki
(Japanese raccoon dog).

The inspiration for this pot comes from the story "Bunbuku chagama", in which a Tanuki transforms itself into an iron pot for the tea ceremony.


Handmade by the craftsman Kameoka Katsushi of the 'Motozo kiln' in Tokoname.
The teapot has built-in ceramic mesh infusor.
