| Mayake teapot by Tanikawa Katsuaki This small teapot boasts a host of features. The earthy tones at the bottom are offset by the deep burnish around the spout and handle. Scorch marks have created an artistic wave design around the body and this is further enhanced by the natural ash glaze which has produced hues of gold, siver and bronze. All of the elements during the firing have converged to create a truly harmonious finish. Tanikawa Katsuaki is close to Tokoname craftsman Setsudo and we can see the same careful attention to detail in the exquisitely crafted built-in ceramic mesh filter.
