White Hagi Mentori Katakuchi Sake Pourer by Ohtani Masahiko #3

This White Hagi Mentori katakuchi is a handcrafted sake pourer by Hagi ware potter Ohtani Masahiko. The gently faceted form gives the piece a quiet rhythm, while the soft White Hagi glaze brings out the warmth and subtle texture associated with Hagi ware.

A katakuchi is a traditional Japanese lipped vessel often used for serving sake. This piece has a comfortable size and presence, making it suitable both for practical use and for display as a handmade Hagi ware sake vessel.

Ohtani Masahiko studied for fourteen years under the respected Hagi craftsman Miwa Eizou at Miwa Kyusetsu Kiln. His work reflects a careful understanding of traditional Hagi ware techniques and a calm, well-balanced sense of form.
