Shigaraki matcha chawan by Watanabe Aiko #3
Watanabe Aiko calls wood-fired items with earthy texture Shigaraki, even though these are fired in Iga. Iga and Shigaraki are geographically very close and share similar characteristics.
This chawan was fired twice and exposed to wood smoke to a greater degree than usual, resulting in a swathe of darker color.
There is a tight firing crack inside.
Comes in a signed wooden box.
