Potter’s Profile - Watanabe Aiko

 1992 - Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts (painting),  Kyoto Saga Junior College of Arts.

           (current name: Kyoto Saga University of Arts)

1994 - Started studying firing methods at an Anagama (cave kiln) in Shigaraki.

2001-  Became independent, setting up her own kiln in Iga, Mie Prefecture.

           Held an exhibition at Anagamatoro Hiirono Gallery, Tokyo.

2003 - Moved her workshop to its present location.

          

Watanabe Aiko has exhibited her work at a number of locations throughout Japan and has recently extended her scope of activity abroad, exhibiting in Switzerland and the United States.
