Handpainted Two cranes and a plum tree plate by Nakamura Shigeto

Two majestic cranes gaze keenly out from under a plum tree in full bloom on this stunning hand painted plate with raised sides by respected craftsman Nakamura Shigeto.
The overglaze design stands out in beautiful relief against the pure white background, while bands of color adorned with classic Kutani motifs around the edges draw the eye inwards and frame the scene.
The deft mastery of the brushstrokes and vibrant color scheme are representative of this craftsman's art.

The plate is purely ornamental.(Not suitable for serving food.)
Hand-crafted in Ishikawa-pref. by Master craftsman recognized by the
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Nakamura Shigeto, winner of numerous prizes and member of the Japan Contemporary Arts and Crafts Association. Comes in a signed wooden box.
