Profile

1976 - Born on April 20th in Tachikui village, Hyogo prefecture.
1999 - Graduated from the law department of Kyoto University.
2000 - Completed a course in ceramics at the Kyoto Prefectural Vocational School.
2001 - Trained at the Kyoto Municipal Industrial Research Institute.

2003 - Held his first exhibition at Ginza Kuroda Touen.
(Has held an exhibition here every year since then).
2004 - Exhibited at the Kinki Region Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
(Has exhibited every year since then).
2005 - Exhibited at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
Held a private exhibition at the Hankyu Department Store in Umeda, Osaka.
2006 - Exhibited at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
Exhibited at the Chanoyu Zoukei Exhibition.

2007 - Exhibited at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
Awarded the Incentive Prize at the Kinki Region Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition.
Exhibited at the Chanoyu Zoukei Exhibition.
Held a private exhibition at the Hankyu Department Store in Umeda, Osaka.
2008 - Exhibited at the Chanoyu Zoukei Exhibition.
2009 - Exhibited at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition
Became a member of the Japan Traditional Crafts Association.
Held a private exhibition at the Hankyu Department Store in Umeda, Osaka.

2010 - Nishihata Daibi sadly passed away of heart failure at the young age of 34.

The early demise of such a promising young craftsman is a very tragic loss for Tanba yaki and the Japanese ceramic world as a whole.
