The overall shape resembles that of an apple and the knob on the lid has been crafted to look like the stem. In addition, the knob is hollow to allow for the circulation of air.
There is a slight, shallow crack on the teapot lid from the firing process. *See the last picture. This is very firm and will not develop further.
It does not affect the teapot's performance.
