Woodfired Nerikomi teapot by Konishi Yohei #176
Master Konishi Yohei's inherited the Nerikomi technique (the kneading of colored clay to create a marbling effect) from his father Konishi Yusen I.
He has added an extra dimension to the technique by woodfiring items to enhance the beauty of the finish
A couple of punched holes on the filter have run together during the strong wood firing. This should not affect the perfprmance of the teapot.
Handcrafted by craftsman Konishi Yohei, eldest son of Yusen I, recognized as a Tokoname City Human Cultural Asset and recipient of numerous prestigious prizes.
