Potter's profile - Yamada Sou
Yamada Sou is the son of Yamada Jozan the fourth and the grandson of Yamada Jozan the third, a designated living national treasure who passed away in 2005.
1979 - Born in Tokoname City, Aichi prefecture, Japan
2002 - Completed his studies at the Tokoname Ceramic Research Institute.
Moved to Tajimi city, Gifu prefecture and started producing pottery there.
2004 - Moved back to Tokoname and started producing pottey at the Jozan kiln under the instruction of his father and grandfather.
2005- Held his first private exhibition at the CEPICA gallery in Tokoname.
2008- Displayed his pieces at the Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum under the theme of “Contemporary Tokai Ceramics” .Held a private exhibition of his works at Mitsukoshi Department Store in Nagoya.
2009- Held a private exhibition at Kuroda Touen Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo
