Vintage Hidasuki teaware set by Yusen I
An unused set in mint condition from a tea vendor's private collection.
This is a set of one teapot, one yuzamashi and five sencha cups.
Yusen I (born in 1913) was a pioneering Tokoname potter who developed innovative tea ware techniques,
particularly in nerikomi. He is known for creating intricate patterns through cutting and wheel work.
In his later years, he focused on traditional Tokoname effects such as hidasuki and mogake.
Hidasuki is a technique where straw is used to create distinctive red linear marks.
